A voice crackled over the radio. “This is Groundhog to Sparky, do you copy?”

“I copy you Groundhog.”

“Alright Sparky, commence attack run.”

“Roger that.”

For a moment the two aircraft seemed to hang in the air, then as if at a silent signal they dove towards the earth. They descended through the cloud layer, narrowly missing the mountain range they had been flying over. They banked slightly then leveled out.

“Prepare payload!” Sparky shouted to his crewmates.

“Payload prepared, sir!” Just ahead of them he could see Groundhog and his crew release their own payload; the ivory missiles hurtling down to earth.

“Release!” Sparky ordered.

“Bombs-away!” Came the reply.

The two aircraft circled around to see the damage they caused.
“Direct hit sir!”

“This is Groundhog to Sparky. Well done!” Sparky smiled. “Alright boys, let’s turn this bird’ home!”

Then, the two morning doves landed on a branch, preening their feathers slightly as they congratulated one another on a job well done.
