It’s been several months since I took Eric to Ken Caryl Valley for the first time.

Microbiology is hard. It’s fascinating, but so ridiculously complicated. However, I didn’t expect it to be any less difficult, considering that Dr. Francis Collins literally calls DNA and RNA the “language of God.” 

Note: This is a continuation of sorts of last week’s blog, Writing in the Sciences. It’s in a different piece because I’m not sure how much of it will/ will not fit. But in order to understand the full context of this piece, it’s essential to read my previous piece. 

Well… I’m a third of the way through my second semester at university.

This semester (Fall 2025), I’m taking a course to learn how to write better as a scientist, and I’m already feeling a bit freaked out by it.
