In less than a week, I'll be moved into a new house in the nicest neighborhood in town. My mom spent years working up to this moment, and it's something to celebrate. However, I felt pretty good in this house the last couple years we've been here, and I really didn't want to move until tonight.
Last night, I asked God for a sign that moving was a good idea, since I'm not sure if I like the new house. Today, I hung out with my dad, and came home to see a cop wandering around the neighbor's yard. He asked me if this neighbor drove a white sports car, to which I answered, "Yes.", and then I asked why. The cop didn't say why, but he did mumble something in his radio. He just thanked me and said that's all he needed, before knocking on the door.
I went back to minding my own business, and later came back out to see three police cars with their lights on, and several police officers standing around the homeowner's boyfriend. I pretended not to listen, even though I could hear everything they were saying. I guess the man's son who lives there, has had issues with the law in the past.
I think they waited for a search warrant, I don't really know, though my mom took me to the new house to help drop some stuff off. When we returned, another cop had showed up, and they were walking in and out of the house, talking with the homeowners.
As of now, they're parked in front of the house, and it'll be interesting to see if the guy comes home. I will know since he drives an obnoxiously loud car, and usually returns between 2 and 3 AM. Hopefully, it will end well. My previous neighborhood was basically the hood, and I've gotten used to gunshots, druggies, package thieves, and SWAT raids thanks to that place.
So, now I'm looking forward to moving. I'm pretty done with sketchy neighborhoods (even though the current neighborhood is far from sketchy), and the neighborhood I'm moving into is expensive, and is home to some rather pretentious people (although that's a rant for another time). It's exciting to move, and to explore a new neighborhood. My explorations should keep me busy while my mom is at work, my brother is at school, and I'm waiting for school to start.
