Autumn is here, at least for the trees

leaves changing colors

trees with full foliage

some red, some yellow

scattered among the green

Animals are responding

as the year moves to close,

deer congregate does

and bucks in separate groups

preparing for the battles to come

Life seems to be slowing,

strengthening to weather

the storms the, trials to come

Yet life is also renewing

even as the world retires to slumber

Unexpected it was

yet wonderful in simplicity

a tiny oak, miniature yet

perfectly formed oak leaves, green and proud

and only two sprouting from the rock

proof that life continues

striving and renewing

despite the trials of

wind and sun and storm

building in the most unexpected ways
