It's something we all face, often not well. Indeed many actually come down with some kind of illness. We seem to adapt to stress, leading all to often to downfall, heart attack or death. But, it shouldn't, though I don't know how to prevent it. Perhaps these simple words will help.
Starts with a sigh pressure gone deadline met whole body lighter
Shake of shoulders Stretch of arms Roll of back Time to relax
Too long delayed letting go challenges seeking one last task that isn’t there
Body still tight Used to the tension Can’t let go even for a moment or two
Sit Sip some tea a moment to sink into the chair
Mind still asks “what if” Seeking another task another stressful thing comfort of familiarity
But it’s not rest not wind through hair not sun lighting a vista viewed from and Adirondack on the porch
Why is it so hard to let go of worries, of tasks already complete, in order to renew?
An effort of will separate from the norm find somewhere different Distraction for the soul
Newness captures the mind body can release not lack of effort. New effort brings renewal! |
