What must a creator do, when seeking inspiration?

Is it as easy as simply as looking at the world?

Many people say, “just look at the world”

As if it is that simple, even they can.

But they don’t draw it, they don’t carve it,

They don’t even write it.

Such advice may be free, but too often flippant.

Not really to be acted upon, best ignore.

The world is too big (the universe bigger still)

How does the creator choose? Or maybe, what?

To be inspiring, it (for lack of a better word)

Must speak to the creator,

Giving meaning and firing passion.

A conversation between “it”

and the creator,

filled with emotion and possibility,

maybe some logic, too,

sharing a story never met.

Inspiration may be the start, but not the end,

sparking the encounter “it” sheds light…

On what?

A discovery made,

and experienced,

and recorded,

and built upon.

A private experience for the creator.

Shared only when ready,

without conditions for those who meet it.

A creator sorts and seeks,

Ever watchful

For the “it” that sparks.

Invests in the spark, fanning it to a flame

And then a roaring fire,

Exciting motion, expressing concepts.

A message,

A moment captured -

Holding, nurturing, supporting without burning.

Inspiration always surprises.

Sometimes found in random thoughts or dreams.

Sometimes sought, a search for buried treasure.

It’s, the Result of Inspiration that really matters,

for it is the message the universe shares.

What we do with the message may...

bring insight,

Drive change,

refresh vision.

It may highlight relationships,

or make a statement of what should be.

It doesn’t matter, as long as “something” is shared.

In the end, creation shared with others,

may, perhaps,

become the spark for creativity and passion

for another.
