God recently brought to my attention that I take life way too seriously.

I was brought to this epiphany while I was watching a livestream of a few of my favorite Minecraft youtubers. I was for the most part, taking what they were saying pretty seriously. As they were talking about their various options and spit balling various ideas, I would nod along, as if I was weighing the options as well. It was a situation that demanded some serious thought. People would be viewing what they were building and eventually there would be a world download for those who wanted to see what they had built. The decisions they were about to make could have lasting impact for years to come.

Do you know what they were talking about? THEY WERE MAKING A FLIPPING ZOO!

And not just any zoo, mind you, they were making one where their friends and server mates were the exhibits! They were, in a sense, making a circus of their friends. And for some reason I took this at complete face value.

So, God is right, as always, I need to stop taking this life so seriously. Most of all I think, I need to learn how to laugh at myself, and in so doing, I need to learn to laugh with God. How else am I supposed to see him as my friend and father, and ultimately, creator if I don’t learn to laugh with him! I need to learn to drop the severity of religion that is unbecoming of a child of God. After all, God created laughter and we know this because he made a donkey talk.

So in other words, I need to stop taking God so seriously.
